It is no surprise that a new study highlight the risk of sitting on your butt for long periods of time. The American Journal of Epidemiology showed that people in sedentary jobs for 10 years had twice the risk for colon-cancer. The danger of not moving is many of course. This study look at least 10 years yet many people may be in that position 20, 30, or 40+ years.

Take more short breaks and get out and move. Do not sit down and have a donut! - Take a short brisk walk or do what I do. I have a mini trampoline in office. Just a 3-5 minute jump will change your energy level and get your blood flowing. I have also met a few smart managers who have a treadmill in their office. They walk as they make their phone calls or are on a conference call.
Start doing something now. How long you want to live? What quality of life do you want to have when you are 80? Do you care?
